PMU Brows

Aftercare for all permanent makeup brows including Ombre, Combo, and Hyperrealism techniques.

Whether you’ve chosen ombré powder brows, nano combination, or hyper-realism brows, all of these machine-applied techniques share the same healing process. We offer two aftercare approaches: the "wet" method and the "dry" method. The "wet" method simply involves using a light ointment, while the "dry" method skips ointment altogether.

First Hour Care: For the first hour after your procedure, it's important to gently blot your brows every 15 to 20 minutes with a clean tissue or cotton round to remove any lymphatic fluid. This helps keep the area clean and promotes better healing.

First Night Wash: On the first night, give your brows a gentle wash using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser like Cetaphil. Allow them to air dry fully before proceeding. You may wash as needed throughout the healing process but after 3-4 days you will being to lightly flake and you want to be sure to not disturb this process with scrubbing motions or excess moisture.

Wet vs. Dry Healing:

  • Wet Method: If you're using the wet method, apply a thin layer of the ointment provided in your aftercare kit after washing and drying. This helps keep the area lightly hydrated. Be sure to tap not rub it in.

  • Dry Method: If you prefer the dry method, simply skip the ointment. Both methods work well, and it’s just a matter of personal preference and skin type. Dry skin is more likely to need the ointment as the skin gets more dry and flaky whereas oily skin retains more moisture and natural oil. A light amount of ointment helps with itchiness- do not overapply as this will occlude the brows. Skin needs oxygen to heal.

General Care: Always handle your brows with freshly washed hands, treating the area as you would an open wound. Avoid excess sweating, heat, and direct sun exposure during the initial healing period. No swimming pools, hot tubs, or saunas for 10-14 days. Avoid applying makeup directly on the brows as used products tend to hold bacteria that can cause infection in an open wound. Any work outs should be indoors and not be sweat inducing- think yoga, light Pilates, etc. While peeling phase occurs be very careful to not pick, scratch, or otherwise remove any of the "scabs" prematurely as this will pull the color with it leading to patchy results. After the peeling and flaking are complete, you can return to your normal routine and start using sunscreen to protect your brows from premature fading.
