Permanent Makeup Aftercare
- Gently pad the area with a clean, damp cotton pad 2-3 times for the first hour or so following your appointment to remove lymph.
- Apply a very thin layer of provided aftercare balm starting tomorrow morning. Ointment is not required but preffered for dry skin.
- Avoid direct water contact, steam, and sweating for the first 10 days.
- Do not pick, scratch, or peel any flakes; let them fall off naturally.
- Keep the area clean and free from makeup or skincare products during healing.
Tattoo & Body Art Aftercare
- Â Keep the second skin film on for 3 days; remove by gently stretching it away from the skin rather than peeling.
- Â Wash your art with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil, then gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.
- Â Apply a minimal layer of ointment to hydrate the skin without smothering it.
- Â Avoid swimming, soaking, saunas, and excessive sweating until all peeling has finished.
-  After 7–10 days, resume your usual routine and apply SPF daily to protect the clarity of your fine lines.
Piercing Aftercare
Essential Healing Steps
- Clean twice daily with sterile saline or a sea salt soak. Gently wipe around both sides with clean gauze. Do not rotate, touch, or submerge the jewelry in water for 6 weeks. Redness and clear lymph are normal initially.
CRITICAL CARE CHECKLIST
- Weekly Check & Downsize: Verify the post is visible from the back. Book a downsize appointment at 6 weeks to ensure stability.
- Irritation vs. Infection: Bumps are common; contact your piercer for moisture bumps. Seek medical care immediately for embedding or signs of infection.
- Maintenance: Remove and clean jewelry after 8–10 weeks. Shape and Shade Studio is not responsible for jewelry loss; contact your piercer within 24 hours if lost.
- Youth Safety: Parents must monitor minors (16 and under). Keep bacteria-prone hands away from the site and seek medical help if infection occurs.
